If you have misaligned pearly whites, your dentist or orthodontist can help you. After looking over your dental history, administering an oral examination and taking specifications of your chompers, Dr. Arjun Patel will recommend which orthodontic or dental service is right for you.

These disorders normally require orthodontic services:

Crossbite. Crossbite occurs when the upper chompers don’t rest in front of the lower teeth, normally due to a narrow upper jaw.

Crowding. Crowding occurs when too many chompers make it impossible for the dental ridge to quarter accordingly.

Misplaced midline. A misplaced midline occurs when the center of the upper front chompers doesn’t align with the center of the lower front teeth.

Open bite. Open bites are when there is an opening between seated biting surfaces of the teeth.

Overbite. Overbite, also referred to as “buck pearly whites,” is a condition where the upper incisors stick out past the lower chompers.

Spacing problems. Gaps, slits, and spaces between teeth can develop cosmetic problems and oral health problems.

Underbite. Underbites occur when the upper chompers are too far behind the lower pearly whites, fashioning the bite misaligned.
